masterboard to card

I promised on wednesday I would show you what this masterboard

would turn into.
Oops, the days have slipped by and it is already Saturday.
Well with the moto better late then never here is the card I made with the masterboard

I justed stamped this amazing image on it and cut it to size.

How did the masterboard come together?
I started with a large piece of watercolor paper and grabbed all of my circle stencils (because the biweekly theme over at The Craft Barn is to use circles in the background)

First I applied some texture paste through one of them. Then I went to town with my Dylusions spray inks.
Next I added some more stencilling and stamping with a stamp

I made from anti-scratch selfadhesive felt from the hardware store, which in its turn is this month's Let's Play theme

I still have plenty leftover from the masterboard ready for a next project in the nearby or not so nearby future, we'll see.

diamonds

For this weeks challenge over at the Craft Barn I started by stamping a diamond background stamp on a 10x15cm ICAD and coloring the white spaces in with my inktense pencils. This worked very relaxing and was even more fun because my son joined in. Next I cut a diamond shape and glued that down to my cardbase

I also glued down the left over pieces on another cardbase. There I just stamped Happy Birthday in it and done, looks great if I say so myself.

The other card doesn't inspire me at all for the time being so I will let it rest till I figure out what to do with it, if you have any sugestions just leave them in the comment box down below.

Clean and Simple

Sounds easy, no? But I must say I had to think a bit because usually I work messy and use lots of layers. I took inspiration from Dawn over at The Craft Barn and used texture paste in combination with a stencil from TheCraftersWorkshop (TCW327S) on black cardstock.

I used the 4 images, but one didn't come out crisp (I think the stencil is a  bit thorn) so I discarded that one.

I used a 12x12cm crème metallic card as base, glued the 8x8cm square in the middle and cut a frame out of the same black cardstock. Repeated this for all 3 patterns.

stripes

It's so hot here right now that I escaped to my studio which is currently situated in the basement, so nice and cool there. I took my gelli plate, brayer, acrylic paints and a texturing tool

and whipped up some prints in bright colors using a corragated piece of cardboard
I then cut the papers in strips of 2cm wide and glued them on a cardbase in different patterns and added some sentiments

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Bunting

This weeks chalenge at The Craft Barn is bunting.
I made this card for familymembers who recently have moved to a new house.

I started by sprinkling different colours of brusho on a large piece of watercolour paper and spritzing it with some water.

While this was drying I made my bunting out of washitape, it was a little bit fiddly but I love the playfulness it ads to the card.
With the leftover watercolour paper I made 4 more cards.

I love the fact that they all look totally different, yet are made out of the same sheet of brusho paper.

Christmas cards for Unicef

After seeing the devistation that typhoon Haiyan caused in the Phillipines I had to do something to help those unfortunate people.
Slowly the idea rose to combine what I love doing and raising some money.
Because Christmas is only just around the corner I thought it would be a good idea to make Christmas cards (everyone needs some cards, no?) and the money I raise is for Unicef,
I saw this post from Izzy over at The Craft Barn on how to make a lot of cards in a short amount of time and they still look stunning. So this became my design.
The only thing you really need is a bunge of gelli prints, o what a job J NOT
So for the coming weeks I will be busy gelli printing, cutting, gluing trees on the cards and stamping a sentiment on them.
So I predict that the upcoming posts will involve a lot of prints J

pretty little dress card

I saw this lay out called ‘Night on the town’ from Julie G and loved the image of the pretty dress. Unfortunately I don’t own such a stamp, but no panic because a while ago I saw this great tutorial from Jennibellie about making your own stamps using string and wanted to give this a try, this was the perfect opportunity. I drew the image on cardboard, glued string to it and sealed it with gel medium. According to the tutorial you best use the stamps with acrylic paint as ink doesn’t really work that well, but to my surprise it worked just fine. I think it has something to do with the type of string, I used kitchen string, this is fairly smooth.

left the homemade stamp ( which has already yellow paint on it because I tried it out on the gelli plate :-))
right the stamped image using stazon
I stamped the dress on a gelli print, cut it out and glued it to another print. I also made this super cute little coat hanger. This makes the perfect birthday card for my husband’s grandmother tomorrow.

I also will be linking this post to August's gelli print party.

Bye for now, hope to see you soon back.
