background 94 -100/365somethings2018

Hello,

I am double excited!!!

1) I finished my 100 backgrounds, YEAH, big shout out to myself!!!
2) and I read about a challenge on FB which got me intrigued imediately, did some more digging and research and came out at Hanna Andersson and Daisy yellow blogs.

The challenge is called 365somethings2018:
and it is exactly what is says, create 365 somethings by 31/12/2018,
so it doesn't have to be each day, you just have to have 365 somethings at the end of the year.

What will mine somethings be?

Well, I will be creating 365 indexcards which will then form a gratitude book, each day I will write on the back of the card what I am grateful for, apparently this is hard in the beginning but as you progress it gets easier and easier to focus on the positive things in life.

What will my process be?

I will be creating 7 cards each week and will be posting them here on my blog every Sunday.

So here are the first 7:

backgrounds 87-93/100

Hello,

Last year I started the 100 day challenge with the intention of creating a background each day for 100 days in a row, of course I failed because creating every single day is too huge of a commitment for me. So I set myself the goal to do 100 backgrounds by year end. Unfortunately I (only) managed to get to #93 and for some odd reason only managed to blog until #86, so here are #87 til #93:

background #87

background #88

which immediately inspired me to finish it off:

background #89: created out of junk (bubble wrap, cardboard, cheesecloth)

background #90
background #91 created with all the excess paint of #90
background #92

background #93

So only 7 more to go, altough I didn't make it in 2017 I will not abandon this project.

background 86/100

Hello,

I must say that this is rather a finished page then a background.

It started out with some writing, which I overpainted.
I like this repetitive stamp, if one day I have enough patience I might try to color them all in (fat change that that will happen J)
The face is not too bad, the placement of the neck on the other hand...

Hello,

The next background in  the series started out as a wipe off page

on which I kept on adding

and adding

and probably there will be some more things added before I call it finished J

background 81/100

ok, this post is way overdue, but here it is (finally).
Remember the other day I went to the park with my art travelling kit,
that evening while the boys were watching Johnny English I grabbed my kit and installed me to create this,
I call it Swing from the chandelier

background 79 + 80

Hello,

We are having such beautiful sunny autumn days here,
so the other day we, my son and me, went to the park and I took my artbox with me.
While he was playing in the playground I played around with some art supplies and created these:

Make mistakes,
take chances,
be silly,
be imperfect,
trust yourself
and follow your heart
(or you might spend the rest of your life wishing you had)

background 76/100

Hello and welcome,

yes, against all odds I'm already back with the following background in the series.
Want to see the others (just click on the tab 100 day challenge)

It all started with some good old coloring fun of the wide strip of washitape.
I also used one of my new stamps "Willow" by Santoro

Image result for santoro willow
Isn't she just amazing?

background 75/100

Hello and welcome,

Time has its way of slipping through your fingers, hasn't it?
Another month has passed again with no activity here, shame on me.
I really need to get/be focused and make sure I finish this 100 "day" project this year.
I'm 3/4 on the way, so this should be more then possible.

Here are some step by step pictures of my 75th background:

Go with the flow
Force nothing
Let it happen...
trust that whichever way it goes
it's for the best.

background 73/100

Hello,

Gosh, it has been a while since I've been here.
This time not only no action on my blog, but also in the craft room.
But I feel the tide is turning.

Still working on my background challenge,
still loving it,
because it is so freeing;
I don't need to worry about what to create,
what the finished piece needs to look like,....
And in some or even the most cases the outcome is almost a finished page.

Here you can see some step by step pictures of the creation of background #73:

background 72/100

Hello,

With the next background I went a bit on the geometry tour.
I used some stencils, sprayink and acrylic paint.

Next I gessod all over it, knowing that the inks would spread.

In the lines I suddenly saw a big arrow, which I painted black,
this led to the arrow stamps, the stars are in the same set, hence the stars.

I gave it a nice glow with some gold interference paint. Hard to capture on photo though, but I think you can see a glimpse of it.
I'm not sure of the center image, thinking of a globe instead, we'll see how this ones evolves (probably I will need to do a follow up on the 100 backgrounds, 100 finished pages J)

background 71/100

Hello,

my 81th post this year,
one more already than all 2016,
next goal: 97 (posts in 2015)

I started out with just putting some random things on the page:
collage with paper scraps and some stencilling

Next the acrylic paints came out to play

I like the yellow and the bold colors,
but they don't seem to work together very well,
so I obscured the bold lettering with a magazine clipping

better, after some more fiddling with oil pastels it looks like this

I see a silhouette of a face in the left corner (though not very visible on the picture)

background 70/100

Hello,

It's been a while,
not that I've not been crafting,
just not been blogging.

My next background in the series is very grungy,
It started out with this black and white collage

and evolved into this

I think this would be a good base for a masculin card.

background 69/100

hello,

I painted these rectangles with some leftover blue paint from previous page.
I chose rectangles in contrast with the circles from that page.

Colored the rectangles with a yellow and orange posca pen.

added some more color with acrylic paint and pattern with a background stamp.

some white acrylic paint and doodling to finish.
