WOYWW 389

It's raining cats and dogs outside, so perfect weather to grab a cup of coco and go on a worldtour hopping from one desk to another(see here for the starting point over at Julia's place)
Mine is humming with business.

Some of the journal pages in progress

And here is what is happening opposite of me, my son's artwork in progress

WOYWW 388

Hello and welcome,

As it is WOYWW, here is a side view of my desk

What can be seen on my desk?

Besides all the usual mess you mean?
A finished art journal page

This page took me in all kinds of places,
It started with just some circles around the border of the page,
and eventually turned into this night snowy fairy scene.

WOYWW 387

Welcome to my desk,
you can see my journal in which, after the hesitating start last week,
I am 3 pages further, with this one being finished (I think).

A close-up of the journal page,

I used kitchen roll paper which I used to blot up ink as a basis
some stamping and some stencilling.

DPP faded

I knew I wanted to use my neocolors II for this prompt ,
But how or what??

So I just started drawing,
some circles, connecting them and coloring the blocks.
Next some water spritzing and yes it did create some awesome drips.
On my desk there were some hearts laying around,
so on they went.

WOYWW 386 - stencils

Welcome ,
come in
and have a look at my desk
(it is WOYWW after all)

You can see the very first page in my new art journal.

I usually don’t have blank page syndrome,
But I must say I had blank journal syndrome this time.
It is the first time I bought a proper journal, usually I use a cheap book or make one myself,
But now I splashed out and bought a nice book with sturdy pages that hopefully can withstand all kinds of media

You may or may not remember I bought a silhouette cameo last year to be able to cut my own stencils. Well, I must say I’ve used it but not that extensive. I think I was unconsciously worried about needing to change the blade every 5 seconds, but I realized that it is better to having to change the blade rather than leaving the machine unused.
So this weekend I cut and I cut and I cut... 22 stencils and counting.

I used some of the stencils in my journal already,
remember the pink drip page from a couple of weeks ago,
I added some stencilling,
the page is coming together,
 needs some more work though

some other pages in process

DPP white - Hygge

The other day I read a newspaper article about the Danish being the happiest people in the world, they attribute that to Hygge.

Hygge means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people. The warm glow of candlelight is hygge. Friends and family – that’s hygge too. There's nothing more hygge than sitting round a table, discussing the big and small things in life;...

I grabbed my collage drawer and searched for things I thought are hygge: butterflies, rabbits, snow, toeslippers,...

here are all the images I collected on my desk,
I think I might like
this collage even better than the actual page.

WOYWW 384

Feng shui: a Chinese philosophical system of harmonizing everyone with the surrounding environment.

I’m still in search for the best possible set up for our craft room.
Maybe it is a constant search, we’ll see.
Recently I shared the reorganizing of the shelves, this weekend we rearranged our desks (mine and my son’s)

Before they were standing next to each other against the wall, this was set up like that because of the orientation of the sockets,
but  I decided I wanted more interaction,
so we’ve placed the desks against each other so we can see each other and talk to each other while crafting.
I’m loving this set-up.

Lille

Welcome to my revamped blog, hope you'll enjoy it.

Remember I followed a workshop 2 weeks ago on a craft fair,
 creating a mini album,
I was so chuffed with the result I immediately started another one

This was my present for my nieces B-day,
no her name is not Lille,
she went away for the weekend to Lille in France :-)

I used subtle flowery feminine papers on the inside.

Needless to say that she loved her book.

WOYWW 382 Craft haul

Did I have fun at the craft fair? YES.
Did I spent a lot of money? ABSOLUTELY.
I wonder, can anybody go to a fair and withstand all that temptation?? I always feel like a kid in a toystore.
Let me show you what I bought

a couple of stamps :-)
some essentials, mini gelli plates, waxes,
embossing powder and paints.

some embellishments,
the picture on the right is the content of that plastic bag.

For the first time I participated in a workshop, creating a journal.
These were some examples

and here is how mine turned out

And last but not least, because it is workdesk wednesday, here is mine,

I can't go into detail about what's on it, as this is the state I left it after finishing a project which is a present but the recipient hasn't received it yet, be patient, I'll show you next week, promised.

WOYWW 381

Past weekend I kept myself busy with rearranging my studio a bit

 before                     after
So what did I do??
I opened the storage area.
So now everything is more accesible and is split in mine

 and my son's

Originally I didn't do it like this because this corner was going to be the sink area, but unfortunately we ran out of budget, for now, so in the meantime I think this is a better set up.

And this is what is actually on my desk this week

An art journal in progress following one of this year’s Wanderlust classes.

I want to apologize upfront as I will only be able to make visits as of this evening or tomorrow as I have something even more exciting planned for today, if that is even possible, I am going to an art fair
Come back next week to see all details and goodies.
