WOYWW522

Hello fellow WOYWWers,
looks like a lot of you had a seriously blast with the crop,
unfortunaltely I live across the canal,
maybe one day though...

my desk this week looks rather neat

I am currently in full swing of Tammy Garcia aka Daisy Yellow's ICAD2019 challenge,
the set up is to create an indexcard a day (like the name ICAD says 😊)

here are the ones I have completed till now
(they also stil count to finish my 365somethings2018)

what else can be spotted on my desk?
my new aquarelmarkers,
no fancy brand,
just from Action (priced only €3.99),
there are 6 different trays in total,
I have bought 3 to test them

85-91/365somethings2018

I still had my voucher for a craft store laying around that I won last year for most beautiful stall on a local craft fair,
I couldn't let it expire
so off I went and bought some fun new items
like a round gelli plate,
some Marabu watersoluble crayons
and Marabu marbling paints.

It are the last ones that I used
to create my next 7 somethings in the series:

Can you tell that these were a total blast to make??
not to mention how addictive they are.
I think I will pay the craft store another visit for some more colors :-)

64-70/365somethings2018

If you've seen my blogposts this week you saw that I received my Kuretake watercolor set.
I am a newbie to watercolors so indexcards to the rescue,
they are just perfect to experiment with:

gradient with 1 color.
gradient with 2 colors.

salt sprinkling.

alcohol dripping.

plastic foil wrapping.

masking fluid drawing.

some fun with circles.

29-35/365somethings2018

Hello,

This week's theme for my 7 icads was chosen by my son and he chose carnival.
I started with some fun, colorful backgrounds using brushos, ink splatters...
This was on wednesday evening, I had had such a bad day but just sitting down with him and making these backgrounds lightened up my day.
The next following days I spent fiddling with focal points, in fact I made way much than 7 somethings but a lot didn't make the final curtain.
These did:

Amsterdam inks with black acrylic stencilling.
brushos with a Rio carnival dancer.
ecoline splatters with some collage elements.

background is a napkin design, images are from a National Geographic magazine.
black gesso with white stencilling, silhouettes from a Mardi Gras band.
black gesso with gold wax stencilling.

collage depecting a vintage carnival.

As you may have noticed carnival took me all over the world, from Rio de Janeiro, over New Orleans and Venice to China and back in time.

words only

Today I found the Embrace YOUR Art 365 challenge on FB, it is a year long challenge to create each day, which I must say is a real challenge with life coming in between and so on. But I want to give it a try.
1 prompt each day, 365 days, 365 pieces of art. Find out everything about this challenge here:
http://www.tiaresmith.com/whats-happening/embrace-your-art-challenge/

I decided to use ICADS (= Indecxard) for this challenge, I think the size (not too big) is just right for this challenge. I am not sure yet what I eventually am going to do with all the ICADS, time will tell.
Today's prompt is only words.
This is what I came up with

I started out by collaging pieces of a dictionary page and coloring it with 4 shades of green with Derwent Inktense pencils

heat embossed in pink the letters of thank you and spray inked through a letter stencil with midnight blue Dylusions (this didn't go as planned because the ICAD was curled)

Handwritten the word Thank you and outlined it with a white posca pen which picked up the blue sprayink. I choose the word thank you because I am thankfull for so many reasons: I live in a peaceful country, I have no life treathening diseases, I have a nice job, a lovely husband and son, a nice home, time to craft...
