Feng shui: a Chinese philosophical system of harmonizing
everyone with the surrounding environment.
I’m still in search for the best possible set up for our craft room.
Maybe it is a constant search, we’ll see.
Recently I shared the reorganizing of the shelves, this weekend
we rearranged our desks (mine and my son’s)
Before they were standing next to each other against the wall, this was set up like that because of the orientation of the sockets,
but I decided I wanted more interaction,
so we’ve placed the desks against each other so we can see each other and talk to each other while crafting.
I’m loving this set-up.
I would just love to have a desk, full stop... the floor is getting a bit hard on the knees... Great that you have someone to share your space with. Helen #1
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW. I am constantly thinking about reorganising my craft room, but there is too much heavy furniture and stash (and a definite lack of energy!) to actually do anything about it right now. I would like to get another table, so other people could craft with me - but that is for next year. Ali x #10
ReplyDeleteHi Vicky, I think it does sort of continue to get rearranged, as better possibilities become clear. Great set up here though. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #6 xxx
ReplyDeleteSometimes you have to try different setups before the right one stans out - sounds like you've found it :-D

That is a lovely idea and this way you can use his side when he's not there, maximizing your workspace! zsuzsa #22
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great set-up. It must be great fun to be able to craft alongside your son.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week

Vickie, I love your workspace, especially the way you changed it for you and your son to "interact!" I think that's what it's all about! Developing your relationship with him and he with you with a lifetime of memories that he will have! What fun! Blessings, Felicia #35
ReplyDeleteHi Vickie, The new arrangement for the desks looks great.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog.

Nice, love that arrangement, it's how I work at crop, opposite rather than next to, very sociable! (And you can keep an eye on other people's brilliant ideas as they happen!)
Lovely that you get to share your love of craft with your son - a great workspace.

ReplyDeleteI think that's just great, Vicky, rearranging the desks so you can talk to each other! I love looking at all the goodies laid out, too. Great post! Thank you for your visit and for your sweet comment - so nicely put! So glad you like the zengems. They are such fun to do.

My husband and I used to have our desks set up face-to-face like this for when we were working on the same project or playing games together. It's useful for communication and sets you up to really learn from one another. Have a great week! Heather #40
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful set up for chatting away and you can steal space when you need it :) Happy WOYWW hugs Nikki 4
ReplyDeleteI think that your desks look awesome set up like this and you can look up and visit with your son without having to turn your head. My daughter and I used to craft a lot across from each other. I think the changing up the craft room goes on forever. I just finished redoing part of mine and thinking about redoing another part now. Thanks for visiting my desk earlier and leaving a comment. Have a great week! Vickie #2
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to be able to craft with your son. My family show passing interest in what I do.... with the occasional constructive criticism. Rooms evolve I think I am into the 4th configuration of my room and it is pretty good for now. Have a lovely week.

My craft room constantly evolves. I like the desk facing each other, especially for young children. My 11 yr old needs her own space, she'd constantly be encroaching on my side of the desk set up this way. Oh, wait, she already does. lol. It's so wonderful to have a young one that likes to do the same thing. Have a great week. LisaDV #26
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun crafty space Vicky, so much play area to make a mess in!! Well done on the interaction too!! Shaz in Oz.x 14
ReplyDeleteI think it must be great to be able to sit opposite someone and chat whilst you both craft. And what better coupling than a mother and her son? Enjoy this setting whilst you can and change it when you feel like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me whilst I was away
Hugs, Neet 3 xx
You're right. Coming up with a good craft room arrangement is a never ending task. I speak from experience. LOL Sorry my visit is so late.
