love

Let love fill your heart instead of hate.
When hate is in your heart,
There’s room for nothing else.
But when love is in your heart
There’s room for endless happiness.

Our next letter in the alpha/dictionary challenge over at The Craft Barn is L, which stands for love in the alphabet of happiness

I wanted to use a resist technique with crayons and Distress stain (a newly rediscovered art supply, thanks to Carolyne Dube, more details of me rediscovering distress stains see here) to color the background. But unfortunately it didn’t turn out as expected, as these heart shapes

didn’t really appear once I went over it with crushed olive Distress stain.

Oh well, no time to linger about.
I typed out the definition on my typewriter (several times I must add as there is no backspace on a typewriter arghh),
Fussy cut this cute doggy in 3D and added some washi tape with hearts. Because the page was still a bit bare I started stamping (stars, doodles, butterflies) and doodling some myself.
Now it’s starting to look like it’s finished.

  1. How sweet this is! I feel your typing pains. Until I finally broke down and had the typewriter self corrector repaired, I had to type without errors too. Meaning many things got retyped several times...like you've had to do.

  2. I'm completely in awe of your finished project, because you made it work. I've been able to use crayons as a resist, but you have to use good quality crayons. The first time I did it, the crayons didn't show up against my shimmering mists. I really like your finished project and I LOVE the washi tape you used.

I hate to admit this, but I've never used a typewriter!

  3. White candles make a useful resist too. Love the composition and colours.

  4. Lovely page full of sunshine, perfect for a warm loving feeling...
I was thinking, for your typing pains, you might find a typewriter font online, like dafont.com or similar.

  5. Cute page that has a lovely warm and fuzzy feeling to it just right for your chosen word. Like the yellow with the pops of red washi.
