It is wednesday so it is WOYWW,
check here for all the details.
Last week I revealed my 100 day project ( I will be making a background a day and that for 100 days), so on my desk is background #7
I've created a texture with alu-foil, covered it with black gesso and some silver gilding wax.
Besides this 100 day project I'm also frantically busy with preparing for a local arts market next week Friday, fingers crossed I will get everything done by then.
Well, that metallic background is very effective, that's for sure...what a great idea!!

Love that background. Good luck getting everything ready for your arts market. Sarah #11
ReplyDeleteI have my fingers crossed for you! Gorgeous texture you've created there too. Have a lovely crafty week and happy woyww, Angela x16x
ReplyDeleteGosh, you have set yourself some tasks this week! I remember the foil thing but we used black shoe polish to colour it - that was years ago when I ran Girl Guides.
ReplyDeleteYou could try with card shapes underneath for another background, if it is not too similar, or string.

Happy WOYWW. Loving that background. Black gesso is one of my favourite things to play with. Ali x #5
ReplyDeleteGreat metallic background ... the gilding wax leaves a perfect finish. Best of luck on the road to 100 backgrounds. It will be a great resource.

Hi Vicky, I do like that background, but I'm a sucker for black & silver, lol. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #15 XxX
ReplyDeleteGorgeous background.
ReplyDeleteBJ#13 just back from the dentist, still numb and trying to fill time before being allowed lunch, but not until after 2pm!!
What a neat idea for you 100 day project! Will you then go back on work on each page later? I'm doing the 100 day project too! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #35
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfectly SPLENDID background - you sure rocked that technique!

great background! good luck with the project. Helen #3
ReplyDeleteHi Vicky! Great foil background. I had just done one for a card recently. Mine did not use guesso or silver wax. I used silver CS and black stazon and copper embossing powder. Mine was lighter, and I am not sure I did the technique right! I need to try again! Happy WOYWW! #38
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a challenge!!! Love your gilded background, it's very striking. Good luck with your preparations.

That totally looks like dragon skin to me (obviously I've seen lots of dragons to compare it to), wonderful. Cara x
ReplyDeleteWow... that background would be perfect for the "Raven" themed album I will be making soon - it's brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get everything ready for the market :)
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

I'm loving that background - how perfect for a Halloween themed project. Good luck with your 100 backgrounds, it sounds a bit daunting to me, I don't know if I have 100 ideas in me!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week,
